Front axle bent? wowowowowow

Hi guys, I have been hunting vibrations all week. Today had had my jeep up on the rack and I discovered my drivers side front Axle wobbling. BAD. Just outside the housing and before the ujoint. The passenger side is wobbling also but not as bad. My guess here is that this is a problem. The rim and the tire look true though.

Can I replace just the axle halves? Is there something else here I need to be looking at? This just seams strange to me.

Other info, I just insalled a Detroit TrueTrac. Axle is a D30

is the axle housing bent or the shafts? if you aren't sure remove the shafts and then you can tell for sure when they're out.

whats the symptom exactly, usually a bent axle like a bent wheel or bad tire shows up at slower speeds.

Hmmm, well I guess I am pulling the axles out anyway. I can't imagine that the housing is bent but who knows. The vibration became really noticable when I put in the truetrac but new ujoints in the drive line helped. I will probably upgade the driveline to a CV type as I will be going hight with my lift soon. (Currenty 2" going to 4).

The remaining vibration seems to me steady. That's why I lifted and studied all parts moving.
Could it be a bearing or sleeve that would cause the wobble? I have a short video of the wobble but I haven't been able to upload it. Does anyone know what format the video needs to be to upload?

If I have to replace my axles should I upgrade to '95 or TJ axles for the bigger ujoint? Do they require any mods?

Run it until it breaks. But if your front wheel hub bearing is bad it could cause the axle shaft to wobble like that too.
