Front Axle fork broken

Was trying to figure out why the 4x4 didnt work.. vacuum and everything worked fine, the took the unit apart the shift fork thing is broken.... is there a place you can get just the new fork.. or

has anyone welded the two axle peices together? This would be the first choice I have just make it one front axle. there is no posi so everything would just turn all the time like in a TJ and i have no problem with that.. so first question.. can i get a shift fork cheaply, if not.. can i weld the axles together??? thanks

You can by just the fork here
http://www.quadratec.com/default.php

or you can get a tj d30 shaft and put it in and get a block off plate for the hole.

I don't think it would hold up very well. I would go to the junk yard get a tj d30 shaft get a new ujoint for it and buy a block of plate and be done. Or get some stronger chromo shafts. Is the jeep stock?
