Front edge hardtop attachment

I have a 1995 YJ with a soft top. I looked at a hard top this morning but am confused on how it attaches to teh windshield. The top has a small lip of very this metal with four screw holes it it. There are no holes in the windshield frame now. How does the front edge of the top attach to the windshield frame?

Thanx
George

How does your soft top attach to windshield?
If you remove soft top bracket there should be holes
if not you could just drill them

use rubber washers on the screws

Mine has holes for screws that were not there when I purchased it. Driven 65 on the freeway and the top seems to stay put so u may be able to get away with not using the front bolts as I am.

must be a factory soft top so a hard top was never placed on the jeep explaining why there aren't any holes drilled. you will just have to drill and use small sheet metal screws to attach the top. i also know some places like quadratec that sell the quick release kits which makes it easy for removing. i've attached a link to one.
