Frustrated with fuse # 9

I posted this in the general discussion, but have received little feed back....so I came to where I should have posted in the first place...the YJ forum!

I am having problems trouble shooting why my fuse continues to blow. It controls both my gauges and instrument cluster. After unhooking each unit, the fuse continues to blow. I have tried to look for bare wires behind the units, but am seeing nothing. Please help me in my trouble shooting process to narrow down where the problem might be

I drive a 93, 4.0, 5 speed.

Any help from my YJ brethren will be greatly appreciated!

Bad ground? that's the only thing I could think of.

If everything has been disconnected and the fuze continues to blow you have a circuit that is shoorted to ground. Now I know that sounds great but what do you do? Start at the fuze box and trace the wiring to find the problem. This is a slow painstaking process but you have to find out what it is or rewire the circuit.

So, I just need to trace the wires and find where the wiring has worn through?

Basically yes it could even be a pinched wire, but regardless its grounding somewhere it shouldn't be.

I realize its not the best answer but with wiring that's almost as good as it gets.
