Fuel capacity and misleading gauge.

Ok. When I bought my yj from its previous owner he mentioned that the gauge is roughly 1/4 off. So I've been just filling up when I hit 1/4 of a tank left. It takes 12-13 gallons to go from that point to past full..reason why I'm posting is I have read that yj's from 93 have a 17 gallon tank. Is this true?

no..91-95's all have the 20 gallon tank but the length of the vent tube in the tank determines if it will be either 15 or 20 gallon...there are threads on here telling how to make yours 20 if it isn't already

throw a five gallon can of gas in the jeep and go for a ride. Jeep wrangler fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate.
