Fuel filter

Anyone know where to find the fuel filter on an 88 YJ?

2.5? Driver side inner frame right before the front tire. There should be a shield underneath it. 4.2, I dunno

I believe on an early 88 4.2 it's attached to the frame rail in front of the left rear tire. I know for 89 it was changed to directly in front of the carb. Could also be for late 88's.

So I just changed that fuel filter now it's not starting. No leaks or anything. Don't know what to do now

Basics, got fuel, air and spark????

Couple of pics to get you started. Read your plugs they tell a story, run a compression test no sense doing all kinds of things if there is abasic problem. Check your parts, plugs, rotor, cap, wires and vacuum lines are all good.

Reinstall all and try to confirm you have fuel and spark.

Thanks for the help but the problem was that I put the fuel filter on backwards like an idiot lmao

I did the exact same thing on my 4.2, it's because it has two inlets on one side and I had them backwards. I felt like a idiot
