Sweet Zombie Jesus! Last night, I went to the parts store to get replacement fuel hoses and vent hoses. I bought 6' of 5/16" Fuel injection hose to come off the pump, 4' of 3/8" regular fuel line for the vent side, 8' of vacuum line to connect to the metal line feeding back to the evap canister, a small assortment of clamps and one tee to replace the rollover valve. 70 freakin' bucks! They sure are proud of that fuel injection hose!
Anyway, we have an appointment this morning at 9:30, so I went out to the garage early and cleaned up the tank and put a nice protective coat of paint on it. If all goes well, I'll have this thing back in this evening.
I'm a little embarrassed by this, but I had to read the instructions for replacing the fuel pump. In all my years messing with cars, I've never had to replace an in-tank pump.
So, it's either gonna work or turn into a big green bomb!
