I thought I would change out my broken distributor today. The PO had broken an ear off a long time ago and it has been running with one screw in the cap since. I bought a RPT CH07 from Oriley's and come to find out it will not work in the '93 YJ 4.0. The case is not milled correctly and the cam sensor is about 30 degrees off. We checked the book and this is correct from RPT and the CH07 was stamped on the distributor case and the box. Not a fault of Oriley's and they made it good by substituting a Cardone 30-4693 adding a cap and rotor and it worked like a champ. I worked like a fool trying to get the timing correct but it would not happen. The best I could do was a good idle but it would start missing and backfiring at about 1500 rpm's. Hope this will save someone else a headache if they are needing to replace a distributor in a 4.0.
