Gasket for clutch master cylinder to firewall

I am replacing my clutch master and the new one has no gasket in the kit for between the master and the firewall. The original gasket on the plastic OEM one literally became powder when I removed the master. Do I need a gasket for the new one (aluminum) or is it just not needed anymore? I've looked online and haven't even found anyone who sells it.

There is none on mine. You could use a little silicone or make one. It is just to keep water out. It's under the hood and I don't water cross so I've had no issues.

Thanks now hopefully bleeding the system will go as easily as the install of the MC did. NY winter rust makes me fear other wise.

I know first hand. I'm in Buffalo NY. We did have a very mild winter here though. Plow top and doors off already.
