Ok guys, I have a 95 yj with a 4cyl. I am putting a big lift on it and dana 44 front and rear out of a 87 wagoneer. I am also putting 35x12.5x15 tires on it. My question is, what gearing in the axles should I go with? I do drive on the freeway and the speed limit here is 70 I dont want to speed but I would like to hit that number. I would also like to get good gas milage. I know putting bigger tires on give you a bigger gear, what gearing would put me back to stock with those tires?
if it was a 6 i'd say go with 4.56 since you do some highway. a lot of people would rather have 4.88's though. since its a 4 banger i'd say 4.88's or 5.13 would be good.
I knew this would stir people up. I have 4.10s now and Im on 31x10.5s I think I should be using 4.88s now cause with 4.10 I cannt use 5th gear. So I need to go higher than 4.88 number wise that is. Everyone agree with 5.13?
Well I went out today and got it, 5.13 ring and pinion set front and rear master install kits and detroit locker rear and detroit truetrac front. All for about 1400. Now I have to take apart my dana 44 axles.
nah. i just wondered if you were gonna install 5.13's with small tires like 31's or something small like that before you got the bigger tires.
