Getting YJ Wrangler interior warm?

Hey!

I have that kind of problem, that at about 5F I can't get the interior warm enough. Engine is on its normal operating temperature, but the interior don't get warm enought.
I'm running hard top and the door seals are freshly changed. So the wind don't get through saloon.

I do know that the YJ Wrangler interior radiator is small, maybe that's the problem? My YJ is w/o air conditioning.

Has anyone tried something out and can suggest something?

You can try moving the blend door lever with your hand, sometimes it wont close all the way to warm letting air past the heater core and not through it.

How warm is it getting now? Almost no heat at all or just not enough heat to you liking?

Either way, let the engine warm up and leave the heater off, then go check both of the heater core hoses if they're the same temperature (they should be some where near the radiator hose temp) then its some thing with the blend door. If one or both hoses are cold or not as hot as the radiator hose then you could have a blockage in either a hose or the core

I'm still tired so I hope that makes sense

I would check your controls first. Then, your heater core. I always had good heat in my 89 but especially after I replaced the heater core I can cook breakfast in there.

I have to admit I don't have to deal with the extreme cold temps you have to deal with, but I know my YJ's heater can roast me even on the coldest days here, and I have a soft top on it year round. However if it turns out there isn't anything wrong with your heater and it's just not adequate for the temps you deal with there are some 12V aux heaters you can buy for your Jeep to help out. I'll post a link if you need it.
