One of the magazines did a comparison between the procomp kit and the black diamond kit back in the day. According to the comparison, the procomp kit was a little more road friendly, but did not articulate any better then a standard leaf lift kit.

Maybe just buy a TJ then you have coil springs

Those kits are really expensive. Any type of coilover swap, ORI swap, coil spring swap, etc, will be expensive.

Starting with a TJ is a more cost-effective way to go, if you want coil springs.

Seriously, look into Ori Struts. They have incredible flex, do NOT push off when climbing obstacles and no need for sway bar, disconnects or bump stops. If you plan on eventually going to tons look at 14" otherwise 12" are plenty. And they can be dialed in with nitrogen...3", 4" whatever you need.

I putting the plans together. I have 37" Trepador stickies, Ori Struts in garage now. Trying to decide on long or mid arm and whether to do tons right away. Check out Pirate4x4 lots of information. Call Filthy motor sports and they'll answer any questions. Unlike coil overs where you have to purchase the spring and if you don't like that springs rate you have to buy another one, all you have to do is change the pressure in the struts.

zig500, I was going to suggest "Why not just buy a TJ?" but I was afraid it would sound snarky.

Now that I understand you've done a V8 conversion, I understand. The Ori struts seem like the way to go.

Post some pics of the work in progress and the finished Jeep on the trail.

Good Luck, L.M.
