grinding in all gear's jeep will not move

I have a 95 yj. It recently started to grind and refused to move after coming to a stop. Most times I am able to put it into reverse and it will move (but not always). Then after playing around with it in reverse I can get it to go into 1st and move? I have drained and refilled transfer case and tranny with proper fluids. The grinding sound seems to be coming from the T-case but not positive. when I checked the T-case it was out of fluid originally. This problem started a month ago, and did not reoccur until yesterday. It seems to shift into gear smoothly, it just won't move Thanks for any help.

It could be, The fluid is full, the pedal feels strong and when I am not having symptoms it shifts fine. BUT I it is definitely something that I should investigate. Thanks

That really sounds like your clutch is slipping and wearing out. If the clutch does not engage you will only get a gringing of gears when you try to go into gear especially reverse. Double check the clutch fluid. I just needed to add more to mine due to this issue. The next guess is the clutch plate.
