i installed KC hilites and they work and all that but i have never really worked in anything electrical in a car always just mechanical stuff...can someone explain what a ground connection is? Anything else you can add about wiring is appreciated too or any good sites with information on wiring in jeeps or in vehicles in general would be great.

For any electrical to work you need power (+) and ground (-). Your ground is basically your negative. Your whole Jeep thats attached to the frame by metal , in some way is grounded to the - side of the battery. So you might have run the ground wire all the way back to the battery but all you really needed to do is find metal that isnt painted and touch the ground wire to it. I have my ground for my KCs screwed right into the frame by the bumper. And honestly electrical stuff can be talked about for days and me totally covered. For me its stepping stones and eventually youll learn enough to get you by.
