half door paint.

PO painted the interior of my half doors black. it is starting to peel off and look bad. they are tan underneath the black paint it looks like. Is there an easy way to strip off the black paint? thanks in advance for any advice.

Spray brakleen on it. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes wipe it off. May take a few passes. But that stuff takes paint off any surface other than metal.

Might try lightly sanding the surface. I painted mine after roughing up the surface and using plastic paint. I have no peeling or flaking problems.

BTW, Qtec sells replacement panels pretty cheap. That's why I tried the painting, i figured if I screwed it up I'd just buy the replacements.

I was going to suggest the plastic paint as well. I painted my dash with this stuff, looks factory, and holds up great. I put on about 2 1/2 coats. Cost less than $5 per can. You would probably only need one can to do the inner half doors.

I started peeling the paint with my pocket knife. It just started coming off pretty easy. Think ill try my dremel with the wire wheel and take it all off. Then I'll look into that plastic paint. Thanks for the replies.
