hard to change fuel injectors 2.5L?

Im pretty sure i narrowed done my rough idle problem to faulty fuel injectors... not sure which one but id figure i would replace all 4 anyways. it is ok to get the "remanufactored" fuel injectors? and how hard is it to do this job?

did injectors last week on a 4.0. I bought mine from 5.0 motor sports. remans should be fine, but get the 4 hole design. the job isn't that bad. just unbolt the fuel rail, and any thing else in the way and pull off. check that there are no O rings left in the rail. makes it hard to reinstall with 2 O rings. put some kind of lub on the O rings before install, I used atf since it was handy. shouldn't take much more than a couple hours.

It might be a good time to consider upgrading to 19# injectors.

One of the several things you can do to the 2.5 to slightly increase power is install Ford 19-pound fuel injectors. I haven't done it, but I have read about it here several times. Apparently they are a good fit. Injectors alone would increase fueling, but tuning the ECM after upgrades like injectors and oversized throttle body would increase the benefits.

I did the 19# injector and 4.0 TB swap at the same time, took about an hour. When you're done disconnect BOTH battery cables and touch them together for about ten secs. Big difference in power. You won't get better milage at first though because you won't be able to keep your foot out of it. Got both off of e-bay for less than $100 total. Still lovin it. You don't have to disconnect the fuel line just release pressure. Don't forget to pop out the TWO restrictors in the air box. One in front and one in the lid.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! Make sure you have nothing still holding the fuel rail on, than wiggle it. The injectors like to stick in their holes, and will need some persuasion to remove them. Some times you will bend the little metal clips that hold them in the fuel rail, don't worry they are easily bent back into shape. I like to use sill-glide when installing them. Good luck.

Seconded. I actually have an extra set of yellow tops here (Bosch 19 pounders) that came out of a mustang, complete with new seals and o-rings. I bought a set of 8 (out of said mustang) and only need 4.. so the other 4 are available if you want them. PM me and we'll come up with a price.

just a little wiggling, its pretty firm, be careful though, try to pull evenly on the rail. putting them in is a pretty firm push as well. make sure and lube the o-rings with a little oil or something. being such a firm fit, its easy to catch and tear the o-rings if dry. its pretty simple once you figure it out.

You have to hold the rail securely and wiggle the Jeep out from under it.
