hard to shift into 4x4

I got a 95 4 cylinder , just picked it up in the early spring.Just noticed but it is very difficult to shift into 4x4 . not sure if this is normal or if there'a a trick to it or if i should be trying to fix something?Any comments would be helpful.

My 1992 6 cylinder YJ is a bit difficult to shift into 4x4 as well. It does require some muscle because it is changing gears in the transfer case. I think this is normal but another post would give us a better idea if our Jeeps are normal or not lol.

it should slip right into 4x4. try rolling forward slightly while shifting. the same when going back to 2 wheel,

Hmmm I should try this and see if the shift from 2x4 to 4x4 is easier
