Hardtop problem

I have an 88 yj and i picked up a decent cj7 top for $100 but i cant get it to fit quite right because of the roll cage above the door on the window frame. how should i modify the hardtop so that the front will sit down on the window frame? any suggestions

There should be a torx head bolt on the rear of the bars (on Top) above the door that will allow you to change the tilt on the windshield so your top will fit correctly on the windshileld frame.Loosen that bolt and the bars will allow adjustment.

if I am understanding right, that the rollbar mounting plate at the windshield is not allowing the mounting plate on the hardtop to sit down then notch out the plate on the rollbar where it bolts to the windshield if you can so that you still have all the mounting screws on the plate on the hardtop..it would probably keep a better seal that way..if that doesn't look like that will be enough then you may have to notch the plate on the top....or might have to notch them both a little..it's not rocket science so just look at it and see what looks like the best way
