94Yj 2.5 just replaced crank sensor. Now fuel pump won't turn on jeep will stay running with starting fluid checked fuse and relay both good power block is good but nothing to pump yes direct power to pump and it works
The way everyone hates electronics (me included), if I were looking into a new career, I would go into vehicle electronic diagnostics.
I'm sure that there would be a long line of frustrated home mechanics willing to pay good money for me to come up with a solution to their problem.
That said, now that I'm retired, all I can do is head you in a direction that might help resolve your no start issue.
Find a post by MudMagnetYJ and look in his signature. There you will find a link to several Factory Service Manuals. Find the FSM that's closest to your year Jeep.
Look through the FSM for a trouble shooting flowchart that is probably labeled "No Start Diagnostics" or something like that.
Follow the flowchart until you find a cure for your particular problem.
Two things come to mind:
1)- CPS is faulty right out of the box (not unheard of). The FSM will tell you how to check it. Did you get a Mopar CPS?
2)- you will get a lot of suggestions on this forum telling you to do this or do that, or to replace this or that.
My suggestion is to determine what is wrong by following the flowchart and replace only the faulty part. This is going to be the fastest and least expensive way to cure your no start problem.
check the fuel pump ground wire for continuity to the battery negative. This will eliminate a balky ground as the problem. You just need a long jumper wire from the battery negative post that will reach back to the fuel tank connector, unplug the connector, and use a multi-tester to check for continuity between the ground wire terminal and the jumper
