head through valve cover....engine swap questions.

ok so i blew it up.................. but i found a ford 302 V8. my questions are will it work with my trans.....i don't think it will. do i need new axles?? NEED is a good word. do they stand a chance?? basically tell me everything else i need to replace a 289 4.2L I-6 with a 5.0 302 V8.

Also, my plan is this, i own 2 yj's a 90 w blown 4 banger and an 89 w 289 carbed. i just put a 6'' lift on the 6 cyl and blew up the 4 cyl i want to trash the 4 cyl, replace with the 6 cyl. and i want to put a v8 in the 6cyl place. can it be done affordable??? or am i looking at like a couple thousand dollar project?? also any suggestions would be nice??

that trans looks like a 2wd.

stock axles on a yj wont hold v8 power.

the 4cyl tranny wont either
