So I found this header for my 90 yj and it says it's a chassis exit I don't know what that means I know I sound dumb but fix my Jeep myself and am new to this so with this header do I need a middle pipe that runs to the converter or can I just do a glass pack and run the pipe back
You cant hook a glass pack directly to the header. For one thing the exit points at the ground, and the other is its on the same side as the front driveshaft.
If its a 4.2L motor, you want to make sure you get the correct header for it. The flanges (where it bolts to the head) have to be the same thickness as the intake, because they share mounting bolts. I different thickness in the flange will result in leaks. Plus you will find out that the header is way close to the front drive shaft. I tired a Clifford on mine and it didn't work at all.
With a shorty header, you can stay clear of the driveshaft, but then you need a custom made down pipe to get you over to the passenger side to line up with the rest of the exhaust.
It will not fit down the drivers side at all. T-case is in the way.
OK thanks for the info I was going to replace the whole exhaust because it's getting rust blow outs but I just wanted to know if I could go to the glass pack so I will need a pipe ran from the header to the glass pack?
