Headlight question

I was thinking of switching to the plastic housings and the 68 led bulbs for an updated look on the YJ. Has anyone tried this? If so how is the light output? Thanks in advance.

Dont do it they are Junk. anything that says daimond or crystal are not decent lights)

The led bulbs do not throw any light they are dimmer then stock ( my buddy went that route and went back to stock)

My XJ has the same size lights as the YJ .

I upgraded the wiring harness to one that uses relays so my lights get a full 12volts , then I bought a set of Autopal E code headlights It made a massive improvement my low beams are now brighter then my hibeams were.

I am currently waiting for my new lights for my XJ to come in ( Bixenon Projectors retrofitted into housings ) when they come in my current XJ light setup is going into my YJ

I know they are expensive but I can't say enough good things about the Cibie H4 housings and a decent set of bulbs. They are worth it.

I had Trucklite LEDs and the Cibies are way better. They have a very sharp "HID like" cutoff and a wide, smooth pattern on the road.

Here is those same lights with the halo bulbs on. The housings are made well, but require trimming the head light bucket to get them to fit.

The bulbs that came with them were junk, so, I added my own bulb that is a tad illegal, but I can see well. lol. The new bulbs are 100W low beam and 140W high beam.

I also had to install a relay wiring harness for the higher wattage bulbs to work.

Nice. They look sharp. My YJ is white and I did the bezels in satin black to break it up a bit.
