heat coming from dash

i am getting heat coming between the defrost and windshield. can i close off my heater core line to stop this?

wranglers always have some air flow if the controls are not all the way left. even with the blower switch off. it's a built in thing.

Stop the flow to the heater core and yes you will stop the heat but not the air flow.

thanks guys i may put a cutoff in the heater core. i just seems like a lot of it may be coming between the dash and windshield. i may can engineer something to stuff in there.

I had a real bad leak in my heater core. foging up the windshield bad. I unhooked the heater core and ran the heater core water hose back to the water pump for now.

I have that same problem with my windshield fogging up and winter is starting to set in here so today I`m going to go out and rip the dash apart I guess and replace the heater core.
I was just getting ready to go out there and was wondering if there is anything I should know about doing this task?

Yeah, there's always at least one more screw, and it will inevitably fall into a crack where you can't reach it. Other than that, no, it's pretty straightforward. Just keep unscrewing, and save the clips if they fall off when you undo the screw. Sans clip, no screw.
