Heater Core???? Need Help - Jeep Wrangler Forum

Question Heater Core???? Need Help

I have a 87 yj and my heater core broke on it and i need some help gettin to it can anyone give me any advice on how to take apart the heating assembly i took the vent part off but i don't know what to do from their

do i just crack it open?

I believe you need to take the dash aprt to get to it and to do that you need to drop the winshield. Did you do a search on this forum to find it?

I have a 90 YJ and yes, you do need to take the dash apart. I did not need to drop the windshield but it was a bear getting it out and then putting the new one in. Good luck.

1993 wrangler heater core

I was afraid of that, it just looked to easy from where the hoses came in and the look of that box,
I know from experience on other vehicles, (not jeeps) that the heater cores are a bear to get to, but the jeep lookied fairly simple, but of course I know better,
so, do I have to take the dash apart on a 93?

yup from 87-95 you have to take the dash apart you should take the seat of to to give you some space also.
