welcome, when looking to buy a yj, look for rust/rot. check floor boards, rocker panels in and out. check rear section of frame, and windshield frame. check 4wd operation also. those are common problem areas. otherwise you can't go wrong, good luck

I have a thing for blue, and wide fenders. I own a 2004 Laguna Seca blue m3, which by the way has wider fenders and quarter pannels. I asked the auto sales place to send me some photos of the floor boards front and rear I dont know how to post them, I can forward the email if any one is willing to look at them for me. thanks

You can post up photos using a hosting service like photobucket. (free) You get what you want in a jeep. Don't settle for less, or you will always say, "I wish..." Some of us just like to give peeps a hard time.

That doesn't look too bad. What part of the country are you in. Is the prospective jeep from there, also?

Don't be to spooked about something being too far away to get. Your best bet is to locate smomething out of the salt zone. You want to see what the undercarriage looks like. If you are going to do your own work, you don't want to get into the position of having to hot wrench or snap off every fitting and nut you go after.

The way i look at it is I would rather have a higher mileage jeep with a clean body and undercarriage than vice versa. You can always fix mechanical stuff. Chasing rust is a pain in the ass.

I have restored several 50's vintage jeeps and trucks. I spend the extra dime and get a good one. My last 51 M38, I could turn any nut on the thing without having to hot wrench or PB blaster it to death.

I'm the same way about my daily drivers these day as well. My current Suburban is from Kansas City area. It's a 96 that was well cared for. You crawl under it and you can turn any nut / bolt on it. If I bought a similar vintage vehicle here in Northeast Ohio, it would be on it's way to being a rust bucket. I figure I've bought another ten years of driving this thing in teh salt if I choose before she rots out on me.

i agree, but they want more for this than any yj i've seen lately. i think he said 7 grand, plus transport. that's a lot when you can find a good yj for a 3-4 grand. but if its the one for him its worth it.
