Help finding parts for 1987 Wrangler

My 1987 jeep Wrangler (4.2, manual) did not pass emissions in Colorado. I'm getting some work done to fix, but the mechanic told me to replace some hard to find parts myself. He gave me the name of 4 parts, but when I google the part names I can't find any information. I listed the names below, and let me know if they have a different name, or where to buy. Thanks, and any help would be great.

1. Air Management Solenoid pack (Is this the EGR Solenoid?)
2. Air Control Valve (Is this the Idle Air Control Valve?)
3. Thermal Vacuum Valve
4. Evaporative System Vacuum Motor

Thanks for the Help
Robert

The CO readings were really high, and was told that not all the gas was being burned off. The shop is fixing some issues, and I'm replacing the EGR Valve and the listed above items if I can figure out what they are. Replaced the carburetor in March and found out it is leaking gas, so working on a warranty replacement for it.

I have a 90 4.2 and live in CA. I also had a hard time passing smog. I took it to a mechanic and had him do a tune up and adjust the timing. In addition to changing the oil, I also replaced the PCV valve, air filter, the little filter piece inside the air filter housing, and the O2 sensor. I got all those parts at Autozone, and they loaned me the wrench to install the O2 sensor. It still didn't pass. I finally took it to a guy who was a wiz with carbs, he tuned it to specs, and it passed. It also runs better. I was told by the first smog tech that I needed to rebuild the carb. The second tech told me about the carb guy. Third time was the charm. Good luck!

But to guess:
1 = the three solenoid valves on the rear of the valve cover, or the 4"/10" vacuum switch assembly.
2 = possibly a pulse air control valve.
3 = Thermal vacuum switch in the air filter housing, or the CTO valve.
4 = the purge valve on the emissions canister, this cannot be replaced for the OEM style canister so a replacement canister will be needed. OEM style is no longer made/stocked, so a similar, suitable replacement will be needed.

Better would be to have the shop mechanic point out the parts that are bad, you take some photos and post up pics of the parts to the forum. We'll be able to help you figure it out without guessing.

If your emissions system is intact I've found that the problems passing with a carb'd 4.2 usually start with a carb that has to be properly adjusted or even replaced, then timing, tune-up (especially new spark plugs) , O2 sensor, EGR. The other components that you mentioned usually aren't the cause.

A bit more info...

The thermal vacuum switch (TVS) is involved in operating the trap doors in the air filter housing.

If the CTO valve is bad, the EGR will not function as it should when the engine warms up, resulting in higher emissions.

Thanks for the advise everyone. I'm going to go back to the shop and have them point out the items, take a photo, and track them down that way.
