Help, Jeep won't start

I need the advice of all the experts on here. My 88 YJ 4.2L engine was randomly missing ( I believe is what it is called) then it died on me, I found a loose wire on my coil, fixed that, and my battery was shot so I got a new battery, checked for spark, and that is ok, fuel filter isn't clogged, fuel pump works, cranks over but Jeep won't start, I have a motorcraft 2150 carb that has been working good, can't figure out if it is that, could it be my timing? not sure, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hmmmm

You may have to be methodical and check everything... check your TDC, and make sure the rotor is pointing to the number one tower on the cap, verify spark at all the spark plugs, even verify there is fuel being sprayed in the carb.

If all of that is there and seems normal, I would suspect the computer. Hard to really say without being there and looking things over.

no computer with a 2150.

check everything like camarozz said though.

1:look down carb and pump linkage, look for fuel squirting
2:unhook hook lead from spark plug and have buddy turn key while you hold it to feel for spark
3:you know its getting air

its all easy stuff except #2, don;t do it that way, ha ha ha. i was playing saying it that way. (well, i mean you can check it that way but its the least pleasant way to check for spark)
