Help please, engine bogging down 2500rpm

Hello all, New to forums but not to Jeeps. Recently talked the wife into letting me buy a 91 YJ. we love it. 6cyl. Automatic. Heres the rub: When revving it up, she starts bucking and shaking at 2500RPM, even with the throttle floored she will not go any higher. The 4wd light was on, but it was in 2wd. now the light seems to go on and off when trying to drive it. She was shifting hard at first and now it seems like theres just no power getting to it, it wont go fast at all and has trouble on the slightest road hill. Flooring it and it will still only get to about 25mph. I've changed the oil and filter, tranny filter and fluid, spark plugs and fuel filter and still the same problem. Any ideas, thanks so much for your Help/Time.

Definantly sounds like a fuel, throttle problem.

Check your fuel lines, the throttle body or carb whatever it has make sure it isnt clogged it may need adjusted. Check the fuel pump and make sure it is running fine.

And you may want to check your throttle line and return spring it could be it isnt even pulling the throttle all the way back.

No problem if anything it could be the computer. If those dont work, which I have no clue how to diagnose that but take it to a shop!

Mine was doing something similar although I have the 2.5 4cyl ,I rented a fuel pressure tester from autozone and discovered the fuel pump is pumping at a low pressure .Doesnt mean that is your issue ,because it is a symptom of a lot of possiblilities ,but you need to check your fuel pressure .

probably not the ECU(computor) start with the basics. full tune up cap rotor, what plugs did you put in? check rail pressure, stock 31psi/39 vacuum disconected. check codes, put jeep into self diagnostic( turn key on 3x leave in on position. count flashes. my first guess is the throtle possitioning sensor. always start with the simple stuff first.
