Help with Speedometer conversion

I have a 91 wrangler 4.0 ax15 and I'm doing a conversion from a machanical speed sensor to an electric speed sensor.. I wonder what I do with this connector

I heard it's going to cause problems for me if I leave it disconnected.. Hoping someone can help me

This is how I've got it wired up so far (from what you can see)

I got the connector from teraflex, everything seems good to go but I haven't got my driveshaft yet.. Maybe monday, Anyone know if I'll be fine leaving it unplugged?

i'm a little confused. so you have a short sye kit, and no longer using the mechanical speedo correct. the kit uses an electric unit, and thats all fine. so the quesiton is can you leave the speedo cable and sensor off? i would just remove it.

I have wired up a new electronic speedometer, but I don't know what to do with that connector that was on the machanical sensor.. I don't know If I leave it alone will I run into problems, I have no idea how to wire something like that into the loop since I dont know what it does... I've taken out the old cable system but theres still that one connector thats circled...

oh ok, the connector on the stock harness. if the directions in your kit don't say anything just zip tie it out of the way or just keep it away from moving parts.

Thats what it's doing right now.. Someone said it's going to have problems running without the connector hooked up.. The jeep runs now I've even tested it out in 4WD and everything seems fine.. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when the driveshasft comes in and take it on the road...

drkemprs...

This is an intriguing thread. I have an AMC Eagle SX4 258 that I am converting to fool-injection. I also have installed an AX15 from a jeep, and a NP247J from a jeep... Unfortunately this leaves me with no place for my mechanical speedo cable.

This is a problem because I need a speed signal to operate a vehicle speed sensor so that my fool-injection system will function correctly and legally.

What kit have you used for this electro-speedo? I think this is the route I am going to have to take.

Thanks,

Alco out
