Just an FYI, cold air intake does not just mean putting a red cone filter on the air intake piping. Cold air intake is separating the intake from the hot air in the engine compartment and into an enclosed area that gets air pulled in from outside the engine bay, usually through the grill, sometimes out the side, or even through a snorkel. What you have there is a hot air intake with a red cone filter.
i have been thinking of doing the same on my 94 4.0,,but was thinking about making a snorkle to get it up and away from engine heat,,,i really dont plan on dumping mine in over its head in a mud or water hole .because im rebuilding mine down to even new paint and ...i thought i would never say this but and because i offroad as much if not more than on road mine..but i am really wanting a nice clean but very capable yj..
I appreciate any ideas and pic. it may help give me or someone a idea to run with. Thanks.
