I used 3 gallons to completely cover the exterior of an F150 longbed (inside the bed too) with three coats, and a fourth on the hood

I've seen a lot of people use the 1.5 gallon kit for the exterior and bumpers usually with little left. And appropriate number of coats (2-3)

You will need 1 gallon if your Jeep is a light color and you are covering it with a similar or darker color. You will need 1.5 gallons if your Jeep is a dark color and you are not coloring it with a color just as dark. Magnet Paints will tell you the same thing. Darker colored Jeeps require an extra coat to look as good as a lighter colored Jeep getting painted.

Thats what I used on mine as well. I went over black with dark orange and learned the hard way I needed more.

How is the paint applied? Spray? How well does it "stick"? What do you treat the existing paint with?

Just sand the existing paint real good so the shine is completely gone and then use Prepsol to prep it for the paint. The bedliner sticks like glue. Roll on or spray, but to spray you need a shutz gun.
