How much play in rear pinion yoke

Drive shaft is out right now and i can turn it about a 1/4 before it will catch. Is this too much if so how to fix

1/4 turn is normal if you have a detroit locker or some other form of locker. Otherwise, I'd pull the cover and check it out.

Ok Sounds good newbie to the jeep world. And ya it has a detroit lockers front and rear with 4:56's

Completely normal. So is the clunk when you take a tight turn and so is the shot gun sound when it unloads and scares the old woman at the gas station. Should make a ratchet sound when you run around corners, too.
