How much would it cost to lift my 1987 YJ Jeep Wrangler 5 inches?

I know nothing about cars. Can anyone give me an estimate?

it depends on how you lift it. That is a real tricky question to answer. If you were to do a spring over axle lift, it can cost as little as $300 or so and as much as $1,000 depending on if you do it and what kind of stuff you add to it. You can also do a 4" suspension lift for about $450 or so and a 1" body lift ro get about the same height. And so on and so on. Do a search, and look at some pics on here to figure out exactly what you are.looking for and how much you want to spend. there are a lot of options on Jeeps

look at a SOA lift........there is several writeups with pics on here do u have access to a welding machine ?

How deep are your pockets?

You can lift it with some LONG ass shackles (14" long) and it would look ghetto as all hell and not work for long, or you can do it properly with either a 5" lift spring, SOA conversion, or a combination 4" spring, 1" shackle kit. Either way, you will need to do a transfercase drop..
