How to increase HP?

I became a jeep owner last summer and it amazes me the amount of aftermarket parts out there. Deciding which one seems to be the most difficult part. Currently I'm running 285/75/16 and can run at 60mph in 4th gear at about 2300rpm's, fifth gear is pretty much useless. Are the tires to large for the 4.2L? I've read that the catalytic converter can cause an issue but have yet to remove it and see if it rattles. Any other suggestions?

The nutter bypass gets some horses but if you really wanna max it put a MC2150/2100 on there with the nutter and you'll be ready to rock and roll.

I'm in the process of doing the Nutter Bypass on my 89 YJ. I do have one big concern, according to the Nutter info I have, it instructs me to block the vacuum line to the distributor. This obviously eliminates the vacuum advance right? How does this then effect engine performance throughout the entire power curve????

Nutter bypass

I have a weber carb on the right now will it work with the nutter bypass? Or is the motor craft a better overall carb?

The Motorcraft is what I believe is one of the best carbs for the 258 but the nutter will still work on your weber.

More power then any carb setup, and eliminates 90% of the vacuum lines clogging your engine, AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EMISSIONS!
