How to Stop People Messing With Our Jeeps?

Okay everyday me and my friends with jeeps always find people messing with them. For example they will push it across the parking lot while at school. We keep our roofs and doors off throughout most of the year and I want a way to stop people messing with it. Any ideas?

We all have manuals, But one of us has a broken steering lock. Which sucks even worse for him.

They have those poles that you can put on your steering wheel making it so they cant turn it. I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to try and move a jeep when it can only go back and forth

Sounds like legally, there isn't much you can do. Same people all the time? Do you know who they are? If so, pull their valve stem cores, throw them in the grassy area near the parking lot and call it a day. Also, what kind of douchebaggery are you up to that makes these people want to waste their time with your jeeps? I messed with a couple of cars in highschool, but only because they deserved it.

Same here. I'll get out of highschool and get to my Jeep only to catch people looking in it. I always have the doors and top off in this season in Texas. Usually I will yell at them saying WTF. I always park where the camera is so If I do get something stolen I can talk to the on school police officer.

That would work great just get a master lock and some big chain and wrap it around all your roll bars.

turn the wheel all the way to the right or left so when they move it it will only go in a circle. for the unlockable steering wheel jeep, get one of the longer padlocks and lock the brake and clutch together

Alarms? I have to think that a few Jeeps making a racket in a school parking lot would call attention to their antics at least.

I have seen one of those bars that go on the steering wheel and it extends out to push brake pedal down to lock it down. Maybe that would slow them down. It may have been in the JC Whitney catalog that I saw last summer. Hopefully your brake system holds pressure. You could also hook up a line lock for your brakes and instead of a temporary push button, just hide a toggle switch to keep it locked or a key switch.

Ask them to knock it off. Tell them that what was once kind of funny is getting really old. If they dont respect your wishes, then I think you should re-visit my earlier post. That is a harmless joke that at least I think is funny. The problem with them moving your vehicles around the parking lot starts when they accidentally lose control of one of the slow moving and jeeps and it hits someone elses car other property or does bodily injury to a bystander. When that happens, I would think that you would be held liable for damages, not them. Your "really good friends" should understand this.

EDIT: Man, I sound OLD

find a few of the biggest zip-ties you can find. put them around their driveshaft.

i did this after getting out of work to find no less than 300 lit green chemlights inside my 350Z.

There are a few options with this scenario. They take time, but what the hell. First, you can do something with a bike lock or a chain and lock, and wrap your clutch pedal to your seat nice and tight.

They wouldn't be able to take it off, but move your seat forward all the way so you make it taught.

you could try chock blocks around your tire, but they may find that. lol.

you could also shove a wooden block behind your clutch pedal and on top of your brake, and again, have big eye hooks on the ends and chain it.

It's hard, you find something simple to do, something that would be less obvious, but runs the risk of damage is putting a metal rod through your driveshaft so it only turns so much, but again, that is dangerous, especially if you forget about it.

Good luck, man. I know that sucks.

What's with you guys and blocking/locking the clutch pedal? A manual trans can be popped out of gear clutch or not. Retaliation is good. Remove valve stem caps, superglue bb's inside. Flat tire in days/hours minus the hissing noise.

Report it to anyone who is in charge and threaten legal action if it does not stop.

F****** with someone elses personal property should not be acceptable at school.

Use those steering wheel CLUB anti-theft device and make sure to parallel park between to others. If that don fix your issue, find new friends, or start a group called: Jeepers against Car Theives lol
