How to wire up my Alternator for YJ

I have a 90 YJ and it died on me. I had buddy come look at it and decided that it was electrical and that I should totally rewire the jeep. The previous owner did a chevy 350 v8 swap on it but totally hacked the wiring. So I did my research and found out that it would be easiest to replace it with the original wiring. I got on ebay and found everything I needed. Started the jeep last night. The only thing I need to hook up is the alternator. When I pulled the wires that had to do with the alternator, i forgot to label them. So here is my problem. I have 3 wires. Need to know where they go. I will attach a pic. Does wire 1 go to the battery or the bulkhead and if it goes to the bulkhead what wire would I connect it to. As for wire 2 I think it connect to the screw on the back of the alternator where wire 1 is. Last is wire 3. I figure one of the has to attach to the volt meter. Any help or advice will do. I found on another thread that had the wire diagram for the 88/89 bulkhead connector. D4,E4,G4 have Battery labeled on it so I wired those to the battery, maybe one of these goes to the alternator. HELP..

with the jeep running, put a meter on the white and red coming from the white plug and see which one is hot.

Wire 1 goes directly to the positive post of the battery, or something functionally equivalent. One of the other wires go to the alternator light. I’m not sure what the second of the other two is for, and I don’t know which is which. As I don’t know what the other wire is for, I can’t give guidance for testing.
