Exclamation I mixed 80W-90 and 85w-140 in my diff. Is that bad?

Today i was changing the gear oil in my front diff. (YJ Dana 30 Open)

I thought i got 80W-90 with both bottles, but I had accidentally picked up 1 bottle of 85W-140. I used the first quart of 80W-90 and about half the bottle of 85W-140 to get it to the fill hole. And it was after i was throwing everything away that I saw my error.

I'm not to worried about it, and i know diff's aren't to picky about the oil you put in them, and i feel stupid for asking but i just want to be sure.

So is mixing 1 quart 80W-90 and half a quart 85W-140 to fill my diff going to damage it?

Or would it be a good idea to drain it and refill with all 80W-90?

It's not going to hurt anything. You thinned the heavier one or thickened the lighter one depending on which way you would like to look at it. Lol. It will be fine
