Im stumped and need some help please

I have a 91 wrangler. Twice now it has died on me and I'm pretty sure it's fuel related. First time it got hot and I'm pretty sure it over heated could hear the fuel pump screaming in the tank. Took the fuel cap off and there was so much pressure it spot fuel out. I figured a vapor lock. It cooled down ran fine for a couple weeks. Went up wheeling this weekend didn't really get that hot. Did it again took the cap off tons of pressure let it sit for a few started back up ran fine. What is going on any ideas?

There are 2 vents in the top of the tank. Some call them roll over valves, cause they seal in the event of a roll over to keep gas from spilling out. either these are bad or the hose going from them to the breather that they are connected to has become plugged. On the older ones the hose runs to the charcoal canister up by the drivers front wheel. Newer YJ's have the canister in the passenger rear wheel well up under the plastic cover.

Let it breathe, and it will prevent the vapor lock.

X2 also make sure the cap is turned a half the opposite direction after you close it. That will vent the tank.

Thanks for the help I will check the lines and did find that I had a bad cap and it wouldn't allow the tank to breath. Thanks again!
