Check your engine compartment for any vacuum hoses to see if one came loose from the engine.
A Vacuum usually runs the vent switching operation.

If the vent switch work smoothly, likely a hose.
If the vent switch seems to be binding or too lose, it may also be a knob switch connection that is broken/loose behind the dash.

what year jeep? what vents are you refering to? center heater vent? they are not powered in the vent position. heater and defrost only.

the center "vent" is actually not a vent. it is only heater. the selector slide must be in the "heater" postion for any output. temp will be determined by the heat/cool slide. in the heat/defrost positions there will always be some flow. amount of flow is determined by the blower switch. the vent position only has flow to the square hole by the passengers feet. it in never powered by the blower. whew!!!!!!

In other words, in the "vent" slider position, the faster you go, the more it blows.....
