Installing LED tail lights.

These were a gift so I am installing them.

Firstly, as I removed the OEM tail light and housing and disconnected the harness, I discovered that I have four wires and not three. I googled the wiring diagram and saw quite a few threads in the Jeep Forum but their wires were different colors than mine.

I need to know if anyone has a diagram with these colors:
black, black/yellow, green/red, and purple/black.

Secondly, is it necessary to buy an equalizer? I know I have to buy a more powerful blinker switch, but can they still function without the equalizer?

Yes you will need to buy an led flasher. There only like 7 bux and can be had at any auto store.

As far as the lights go I'm surprised there not plug and play

I just did mine and didt need a led flasher! I had 4 wires to I just sat there with a test light to figure out what did what! You only going to use two of them unless you are hooking up back up lights at the same time!

Some of those lights have a built in resistor, so they use the same amount of power as a regular bulb. That way you don't have to change the flasher relay.

I have a set of those exact same lights. No, you do not need an equalizer it is built into the lights themselves. You will need to get an electronic flasher fuse or your turn signals will not work properly, and I did the same thing most of these other guys did. A test light and a person going through the motions.

So I accidentally had a couple wires touch and I don't know what fuse to change. Would you happen to know? I can't find a sensible fuse box diagram or wire diagram ANYWHERE online. Not in google or jeepforum.

Can you assist me, sir?

I guess nothing was actually wrong. Now I'm going to buy the flashers and be in perfectly working order. I love the modern look.
