Is a SYE and driveshaft install a DIY job?

For those who have done it, tell us how difficult, scale of 1-10, 10 being hardest, in your opinion. Also what major snags did you encounter during your installation??

It's probably around a 7. The biggest frustration is with the snap rings. If you don't want to tackle it yourself, most 4x4 shops (at least around here) charge ~$125 for a simple SYE install.

Very hard to give you an accurate judgement not knowing your skill level.... I'm a certified mechanic for 25+ years now so what I would rate it at may not be the same for everyone.

Plain and simple, no special tools required... Very straight foward.. Disassemble, change out the output shaft and reverse the order... If you have decent mileage on it I suggest changing the chain while your in there as well as the shift fork pads.. Here's a link to the instructions that come with a advanced adapters kit.vvv
