Red face I've got a saggy butt...

So on this '93 yj that I picked up, it's been raised, though poorly.

I noticed that the left rear sits lower than the other 3 corners. From what I can tell, the "lift" is rearched springs and some shackles up front.

Is there an 'eyeball' method to confirm that it's maybe just that left rear leaf/shock combo that's sagging and not a twisted frame or body? The doors all seem to work fine. I can lift up on the left corner and it does lift like maybe the spring or shock is sagging.

My plan is to eventually pull these springs and shocks for something more along the lines of EMU or something when funds permit.

thanks...

I have a '92 YJ with a 2,5" lift. The rear of my jeep started to sag after I put my hard top back on. I did a little research and found that if the stock shackles are used with a longer spring (more arch) it causes the spring to "W". At full compression the spring can't travel to it's full length (flat) because the shackles aren't long enough. It then creates a "W" with the spring weakening it and taking the spring out of the steel. I made some boomerang shackles myself and that fixed the spring length issue but my springs are still soft. Maybe just one of your springs got too weak. I would replace both rear springs or get a lift kit you might have been wanting and do it all at once. Have Fun!

thought I'd re-visit this post. I noticed that when I'm standing in front of the jeep looking at it, the passenger side front shackle is crooked. Obviously the top is to the bumper frame area, but the bottom is kicked out towards the tire. This is the opposite direction of the lean at the driver's rear corner. Could it be that the sagging left rear is pushing the front right outwards? I'm hoping that's all it is, and not a bent frame or something. Better start saving my pennies for that $1000 in lift parts. Blah!
