Jeep start problem! Help!

So this is the second time this happened to me. So this morning I didn't warm my car up before I drove and it was like 15 degrees Fahrenheit. After I started it I began to drive like 30 seconds after. Now when I switch gears on my 5 speed 2.5L 1994 yj it feels like its going to stall and my Rpms drop. I then shut my car off a minute after this happens and then it won't start until I try later in the day without the problem after I let it warm up. Help anyone?

Could be a bunch of stuff. First try and pull any codes with the "key trick". Then if nothing shows there, swap your horn relay for your ign relay under the hood by the battery. Sometimes the relays get old and age not strong enough to stay engaged when it's hot. I had the similar issue but my relays were all corroded and covered in old dry mud.

This is the same problem that my 91' Wrangler is having.... It runs perfect and then tries to quit.. If it does quit or if you turn the key off. It won't start back for afew mins or sometimes hours... Then starts and drives fine once again.... Its had me puzzled for awhile.

It is now working perfectly fine. I just don't know why this even happens.

For anyone having this trouble check your air filter. Read an article that suggested it and I will be changing mine asap

I have the same problem with my Jeep only when the weather is cold. When I try to start my Jeep some days it takes a good 20 mins to get it finally running, and some days it won't start at all. I purchased new battery, spark plug and wires, fuel pump and filter.

Did that help it?

No none of that helped. Put some dry gas in yesterday thinking maybe I have water in my lines and it's freezing up. It seemed to run a little better yesterday thought maybe I finally figured it out. Now this morning it won't start.

Did you try any seafoam fuel injection cleaner. They may be all gummed

Yes the guy at the auto store suggested to use it to get the moisture out and to clean out the system. But didn't seem to help any.

On and off? It should stay on until the engine starts. If it's flashing count the flashes. :flash flash flash: slight pause :flash flash flash: = code 33. Count the flashes and reply with what codes you have.

I think it flashes due to trying to start but I count them when I try to start it in the morning. Suppose to be a bit warmer tomorrow so it may even start right up at least I hope. I miss driving my jeep

The problem sounds like a fuel problem and I would think needs to be addressed from there. Maybe the injectors are just at the end of their life?

Because in my knowledge(correct me if I'm wrong) for a engine to run you need fuel, spark, air, and compression from those three combined. You say you replace the plugs and wires so you should be okay with that I'd think, you replaced your pump and filter so you should be getting clean fuel and pressure, and you changed your air filter? So you should be getting clean in restricted airflow. Now you say you tried injector cleaner so its kind of iffy to say if the fuel is getting to the engine or not so that's what's causing me to think it could be due to old dying injection system or a really dirty one. And you should be getting compression I would think if it is only running sometimes. If you had no compression I would think it would never work.
