Just picked it up yesterday. Its a 1990 yj and when i got there they had it hooked up to an Audi trying to jump start it and when they hooked up all the cable and when they went to put the negative onto the dead battery of the jeep it sparked more than normal. Haven't messed with it yet but i was wondering your guys opinions. Ill post up what the problem was once i figure it out for future users. Thanks!
Pretty hard to answer a question like that. I think I would get the battery out and put it on a charge. While that was happening I would inspect all of the battery cables. Make sure there is a good ground to the block, tub and alternator with good positive connections to PDC, starter and alternator. Then put the battery back in and start your testing. Let us know then what you find.
I had a car that did that one time and the battery had a short inside, try to charge the battery by itself, not in the car, then have it load tested, and yes clean every thing good.
I took the battery off the jeep and charged it over night. When i went to put it back on the jeep I scraped the terminals with a pocket knife and it had a layer of corrosion that wasn't white or green like normal. After scraping the unnoticeable film off and reconnecting it it started turning over and i got it running. Help this helps someone/
