i know this might have been covered a few thousand times but ive been searching through google but nobody has my same symptons. i hope you all can figure it out im stumped.
i had the jeep running finally after countless start ups and by coincidence the engine was warm enough to start after i changed the fuel filter thought my problem was solved.
how it all started was when i drilled a hole into the firewall and pierced my heater core (id rather you not ask). the jeep over heated water/antifreeze whatever it was went everywhere, i left it where it was until i replaced the core. my temp gauge failed. as im driving it down the mountain i was fighting to keep it running. then it finally died.
i wd40 the distributor didnt work then replaced cap, rotor, plugs.
i changed the cps sensor at some time before cant remember when (i sold the jeep and got it back for free after six months)) could it be dirty?
bought a new map sensor heard you have to disconnect the battery a few times didnt do that but while the jeep was warm i disconnected the map sensor and it died out so i figure that works fine? haven't checked it with the multi meter
i replaced the idle air control motor stupid priming thing as well.
now heres the kicker my front and rear exhaust manifold studs are snapped and knowing my luck they are flush with the manifold, but dont know for sure. but it has a very loud exhaust leak.
when i have it running for a awhile (this happened awhile back) my cat was red hot and it seemed like it was running rich? it was shooting out flames, my rear exhaust fell off towards the cat never bothered to replace it not yet anyway so i know my cat isnt clogged.
so on my to do list for tomorrow:
replace the CTS see if that does anything blast the cps with carb or starting fluid wipe it off plug it back it and try again
try new map unplug battery many times and turn key to on off position many times. then at this point if it doesnt start drink a beer and wait untill next day off to take apart the head and get the bolts out or drink more beer and contemplate the use of high temp silicone or jb weld to fix exhaust leak
now heres my crazy conspiracy theory. because of the air leak at the manifold; the ecu cant read something or another and the tb isnt asking for more oxygen because its getting enough at the manifold leak therefore if i fix the leak buy a new 02 sensor itll start?
idk what to do it seems every thread i read never comes to a conclusion or the problem was resolved by something ive already replaced.
