Jeep wont start..HELP!!

My YJ will not start for some reason. I drove it yesterday it was fine, parked it at home for a few hours went to go out and when I turned the key nothing happened, everything else works though, all lights on the dash come on like how it should befor you start them. So I thought maybe the starter was stuck? I tapped on it with a metal bar turned it over again it clicked kinda then nothing, so I gave up and went out. When I came back home I tried the starter relay I put a relay from a different spot in its place and it turned over, figured I fixed it so I went to bed. Well I got up today and the same thing happend wont start, doesnt even turn over. Tried different relays same thing. Took the starter out, jumped across the terminals and it engages fine. Could this be an ignition switch problem? Im stumped. Oh its a 94 4.0 automatic if that helps. This is my daily so I gotta try getting it running ASAP, I just dont get how it just stopped working out of no where when it was running fine just a few hours befor

Turn your key to ON, push the brake peddle in, then move the shifter to D and back to P. Does it start now? You can also put it in N. If it does start then it's a safety switch malfunction somewhere on the transmission or in the wiring between the switch and the starter relay.

Nope, tried that still nothing. I went and bought an ignition switch just to try for the hell of it since it was only $15.

Just replaced the ignition switch and still the thing won't start. Could it be the starter selonoid?

But if I turn the key on and jump the starter with a screwdriver, it starts.

solenoid.....by shorting with a screwdriver, you're bypassing the solenoid.....but just for kicks, check your battery connections...

Check the engine ground, this old jeeps are dirty and the grounding may be an issue. Why do I know, I just spent alot of time to correct this. Run a cable from the negative on the battery to the fire wall. Clean everything and use a wire brush to remove the paint on the fire wall before attaching the new cable.

Ccheck the voltage of the battery, it might simply not have the voltage required.

Well I got it started. I was checking wires with a test light. I checked the yellow one comming from the ignition when I turned the key it got power, but the brown one going to the starter selonoid wasnt getting any power with the key turned over.

So I took the top of the relay box off to see all the wires going into the starter relay. I was touching all the posts with the test light wile my dad held the key over, and once I touched pin 85 wich is a ground I think the jeep started with the key. There is 2 wires comming off pin 85 on the starter relay, both brown/yellow. I traced both of them, one goes to the computer and the other looks to go down to the transmission. I took the main plug off the computer to see if any corrosion was in there but it was clean.

I think it must go down to the neutral safety switch in the auto trans. The jeep would start in gear too if I grounded out pin 85 and turned the key. So I unplugged what I think was the safety switch and pluged it back in and the thing has been starting up everytime now with the key. Not sure how, maybe the connection was loose? Had dirt in it or something im not sure but its been fine so far.

What I unplugged wasn't the neutral safety switch. I found out where it really is today and it looks like my front driveshaft is rubbing on and through the plug for it. Why is my driveshaft touching this? Seems to be too close to the trans.

It's kinda hard to see but you can see the line on the driveshaft where it's touching.
