Just got my first jeep and i have a question

this may be a dumb question but i have a 94 yj with all factory hardware soft top and half hard half soft doors. i just got it yesterday and it is my first jeep. my question is the bar that is part of the roll cage that goes up to the corner of the windshield have been taken off by the guy i bought it from. he said they wont fit in there unless i take the top off. is this true because i really want them in there if possible. it looks to me like the door jam is gonna be in the way. any help is great. who knows i am prolly just an idiot that cant figure it out. lol
ohh one more thing. what are yalls opinions about wheel spacers? thanks to all

all tops will fit with those pieces installed. in fact, they hold the snaps that the soft top attaches to . oh, welcome aboard.

i misspoke. those are part of the roll cage. the only reason i can see to take them off it to put the windshield down. mine have never been off. hard tops, soft tops and bikini tops will all fit with them installed. the snap pieces actually are part of the soft top frame.

Ahh, first Jeep. You'll look back at this point in time and remember the way it was before. When you had money.

I agree with NavyChief - Bikini, soft, etc., should work fine when you reinstall the bits.

Lots of guys run wheel spacers, but the engineering and physics aspect of them scares me a bit - it seems a bad place to add stresses. Do you need room for fat tires or do you just like the look? And have you looked into wheel backspacing?
