Kill Switch

My wife and I live kind of in the ghetto so a friend of mine recommended that i put in a kill switch and hide it somewhere on the frame. is there a kit for this or where would i find out how to wire this up? i figured running something from the battery, but is there a better option?

Key type kill on the battery or my favorite- in line toggle switch to the fuel pump. All you need is some wire and a switch.

Lightbulb

On my 90" YJ, there is a thick red wire going from the battery to the starter relay.

I went to tractor supply & found a 75 amp push-off/pull-on switch.

I noticed the pull button looked like a cigarette lighter's button.

Although I'm a smoker, I figured I could do without the on-board lighter.

A little gutting & some washers & some red wire of the same gauge & I have a kill switch.

I hid the new wiring in the harness!!!

I'm thinking, If you have a standard, there is a switch that has to be engaged when you hold the clutch in for the key to start the ignition. Maybe you could tie a switch in with that.

This is the 75 amp switch;Extra Heavy Duty- Push-Pull Switches on Pollak

Looks just like a lighter, & is easy to reach. Highly unlikely that a thief would think to try it.

Would love to see some pics of where you guys are intalling your kill switches. I've been toying around with the idea myself.

that would work, but only if you don't have the fuse installed that over rides the clutch. Jeep builds in the option of installing a 10amp fuse in a spot they leave empty from the factory to get rid of that safety feature.
