On the 89 2.5 you can remove the inspection plate after you remove the starter to take a closer look. If it is brake fluid then slave cylinder which is internal and you will have to remove T-Case and Tranny. Might think about all the clutch at one time the slave comes with the rest of the clutch kit.
Only special tools needed are the starter bolts and possibly two bell housing bolts upper torqz.
Might want a tranny jack remove as one unit or split the T-Case and Tranny and put in new seals.
89 2.5 TBI, 4" RC lift, 1" Booms, SYE, Adams Driveshafts front and rear, Ford 8.8 with 4:88s, BFG 33X12.50X15, and a ton of other stuff.
