Leaking coolant help

Saw a nice sized puddle of coolant on the ground today. Looked at the hoses and radiator. No leaks. Started engine saw it pouring out on ground. Upon further investigation when I squeeze the top hose coolant pours out from the pulley attached to the fan blade (in that area). I have attached a picture. Can someone point me in the right direction on this?

Thanks

Classic symptom of a worn out water pump. There is a weep hole under the pulley that starts to leak when the bearing wears out.

Depending on your budget, it may be time to replace all the old stuff in the system. I see a lot of original stuff in that pic. Since you got it all open and drained to replace the pump, do everything you can afford. Minimum, get a new fan clutch and thermostat, hoses, and belt. The fan clutch and pump need to be reverse rotation(CCW) due to it being a serpentine system.

I suggest buying that sort of stuff at Rockauto.com if you can wait the two to three days for shipping. 1. You can almost always buy the better brands cheaper than advance junk 2. I guess that's it. You can get gates belt and hoses gates thermostat, a beck arnley water pump etc for great prices, and it's all going to last longer than the dayco and stant and whoever stuff and future you will thank yourself.

At any rate if you have to get it from advance due to time constraints, order online for in store pickup, google a coupon code. You can almost always find something to save you money.

As for the other part, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor. All good things. Check all the rubber for vacuum too. Especially the fitting at the fuel pressure regulator, they seem to rot a lot. Maybe the idler pulley? I wouldn't buy that at advance for sure tho. Had too many bad ones from there.

I don't have an oreillys near me... But advance and autozone are similar. Napa is definitely better but pricey. For example they sell gates belts with their name on it, but much more expensive. I recommend staying away from stant thermostats... I try to plan ahead so I can avoid the cookie cutter stores.

As for the coolant honestly if it's 2 months old... Capture it in a clean bucket and reuse it. It's not bad. Strain it if you are worries about debris. I see no problem with that, to replace it would be wasteful.

Installed the recommended thermostat for your vehicle if it is fuel injected it will need to reach recommended temp for the computer to go into closed loop. Also if you haven't had the radiator cap replaced or at least tested now would be a good time for that too.

It is up to you but I would not replace the fan clutch if not bad, it can be changed later with out reopening the cooling system, and as for turn up, if it has not been done in a while ok, BUT do change any vaccume hose that's a cheep thing that can cause a head ache, reuse the coolant as said and a new cap, to me is a must so you know it's good, plus it to is cheap, good luck. And i too would use Rock Auto or Parts Geak.

If you have an original fan clutch, change it with the water pump. Its a very important part of the cooling system. Best thermostats and caps are going to me genuine mopar. you might have to give the fan flange some love taps as you turn it to get it to walk off the spud.

Thanks guys. I don't think any of these parts have been changed since new. Got everything apart and called it a night. The fan needs a few love taps to come off. Tomorrow I'll pick up some rtv and coolant and put it all together. Thanks again for the tips
